Run real Steam games on your Android handheld with DroidDeck
DroidDeck brings Valve's ARM64 Steam client to Android, playing Windows games locally through ARM64 Proton — no root, no streaming PC. This site tracks setup guides, which devices actually work, and how games perform.
- Works Adreno 730 / 740 / 750 / 830 — Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and newer flagships
- Experimental Adreno 6xx (older Snapdragons like SD 865)
- No Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR, Tensor, Exynos, Adreno 710
- Requirement Android 9+, ~3 GB storage, no root needed
A major update: the desktop layer now mirrors SteamOS much more closely, and game sources expand beyond Steam to GOG and Epic.
- Replaced LXQt desktop with a SteamOS-style KDE Plasma 6.7 session
- GOG and Epic Games Store integrations
- Steam native touch controller (beta) and Bluetooth LE Steam controller support

Frequently asked questions
What is DroidDeck?
DroidDeck is an open-source Android app that runs Valve's native ARM64 Linux Steam client in Big Picture mode on Android handhelds and phones, playing Windows PC games locally through Valve's ARM64 Proton. It is not game streaming — games run on the device itself.
Does DroidDeck require root?
No. DroidDeck runs on a standard Android 9+ device without root access.
Which devices can run DroidDeck?
Snapdragon devices with an Adreno GPU: Adreno 730 or newer (e.g. Adreno 740/750) and the Adreno 8xx series are officially supported. Adreno 6xx is experimental. Mali, Xclipse, PowerVR GPUs and the Adreno 710 are not supported.
How is DroidDeck different from Steam Link?
Steam Link streams games from another PC over your network. DroidDeck runs the games natively on the Android device — no PC required, but performance depends on the device's GPU.
How much storage do I need?
Plan for roughly 3 GB for the DroidDeck runtime, plus about 1.1 GB if you install the desktop layer and additional apps.
Is DroidDeck free and legal?
DroidDeck itself is free and open source. It uses Valve's own Steam client, and you sign in with your own Steam account. Games must be legally purchased — the tool does not provide or bypass game licensing.
Where do I download DroidDeck?
Only from the official GitHub repository: github.com/Droid-Deck/DroidDeck. Avoid third-party APK sites; Uptodown mirrors exist but the GitHub releases page is the authoritative source.
